An appointment may be confirmed while the account still shows an old passport number or differently written name. Editing a user profile may not update the existing booking. Identify the incorrect field and its link to the reservation before opening another account, which can create a second inconsistent record.

Apply the local route to your case

In what order should I correct the profile, booking and application when my appointment matches an old passport or incorrect name? SIRI distinguishes EU/EEA/Swiss residence documents from third-country student permits. Some applications submitted from 1 October 2026 have changed post-study job-search and family rules; Turkish Association Agreement exceptions require separate assessment. Keep entry permission, permission to remain and local registration separate. Use the checklist for your citizenship and actual study purpose, not another student’s appointment category. Save the submission reference, passport details and course dates in one record. A pending application is not automatically permission to travel, start work or remain after an existing document expires; obtain a case-specific answer from the responsible authority.

  • Use SIRI / New to Denmark to identify the responsible service and the rules for your actual student category.
  • Cross-check passport, admission, funding evidence and actual arrival dates against the same application record.
  • Keep written replies, submission receipts and current terms; a group-chat answer is not an official decision.

Steps for this specific problem

  1. Compare the exact Latin-script name, date of birth and passport number across the passport, portal record and offer. Use the official correction route for discrepancies rather than editing an issued document yourself.
  2. Save the booking reference, account email and completion screen. Use the official operator’s status or confirmation-recovery channel before opening another booking, and keep the response with the original record.
  3. Ask the responsible office to confirm your deadline and accepted correction channel in writing. Check the time zone, upload constraints and evidence of receipt instead of relying only on the date shown in a group message.
  4. Confirm whether the recipient needs an original, certified copy, authentication or translation. Obtain the instruction applicable to your case before purchasing a document service, because one institution’s format may not satisfy another.
  5. If the published response period has passed, send one concise status request with the case reference and practical deadline. Follow the official escalation or review route instead of opening repeated duplicate applications or assuming silence means approval.
  6. Keep one dated record of submissions and replies. Redact unnecessary personal information when asking for help, and never give group members your passwords, payment credentials or uncontrolled copies of identity documents.

The linked procedure to check

Most Danish undergraduate and professional first-degree applications use Optagelse.dk. Master’s applicants apply directly to the institution; general, programme-specific and language requirements must each be checked rather than assumed identical. Match your qualification, target programme and document checklist in one application plan. Before paying for translations or authentication, obtain written confirmation from admissions of the required procedure; academic admission does not replace immigration permission or professional licensing. Treat missing-document requests and conditional offers as separate tasks. Record which office wants each document, the permitted format and the final submission channel. A portal registration alone is not the final admission decision.

A common decision point

Can I edit the appointment confirmation myself before attending the appointment?

Do not alter the confirmation yourself. Give official account support the application and booking references and identify the incorrect field. If the passport changed, ask what evidence links the old and new documents. Follow their instructions before assuming a second booking is required or the existing one is corrected.

Requirements change. Before applying or paying, use the current call at the linked source and obtain the institution's written confirmation.
