Denmark
Denmark: connecting a financial sponsor’s relationship, income and bank records clearly

Money in a sponsor’s account does not by itself establish the relationship or availability of support. The applicant, income evidence, undertaking and account holder must form a clear chain; inconsistent names or unexplained large movements can make the financial explanation difficult to assess.
Apply the local route to your case
Which documents connect my sponsor’s relationship, regular income and promised access to support for this application? SIRI distinguishes EU/EEA/Swiss residence documents from third-country student permits. Some applications submitted from 1 October 2026 have changed post-study job-search and family rules; Turkish Association Agreement exceptions require separate assessment. Keep entry permission, permission to remain and local registration separate. Use the checklist for your citizenship and actual study purpose, not another student’s appointment category. Save the submission reference, passport details and course dates in one record. A pending application is not automatically permission to travel, start work or remain after an existing document expires; obtain a case-specific answer from the responsible authority.
- Use SIRI / New to Denmark to identify the responsible service and the rules for your actual student category.
- Cross-check passport, admission, funding evidence and actual arrival dates against the same application record.
- Keep written replies, submission receipts and current terms; a group-chat answer is not an official decision.
Steps for this specific problem
- Use the household and income definitions in the specific call. Reconcile names, reporting years and ownership records, and do not assume that an Italian aid document is a universal requirement or proof of eligibility elsewhere.
- Obtain the type and date range of financial evidence accepted by the receiving office. Where required, keep sponsor identity, relationship, income source and account ownership consistent; do not describe a temporary transfer as recurring income.
- Compare the exact Latin-script name, date of birth and passport number across the passport, portal record and offer. Use the official correction route for discrepancies rather than editing an issued document yourself.
- Confirm whether the recipient needs an original, certified copy, authentication or translation. Obtain the instruction applicable to your case before purchasing a document service, because one institution’s format may not satisfy another.
- Confirm your citizenship, current residence, programme type and study dates before choosing a visa, permit or appointment category. Another student's route may not apply to your circumstances.
- Keep one dated record of submissions and replies. Redact unnecessary personal information when asking for help, and never give group members your passwords, payment credentials or uncontrolled copies of identity documents.
The linked procedure to check
Danish universities administer a limited number of government awards through their own selection. Support may combine full or partial tuition waivers and living grants; verify the exact award’s coverage and eligibility with the institution. Separate full-degree funding from short mobility support. Check nationality, study level, covered costs and renewal conditions in the current call. Count only a confirmed award as income and prepare a workable budget for the possibility that funding is not awarded. Align payment dates with tuition, rent and the immigration evidence deadline. An application receipt is not an award certificate. Ask about incompatible grants and retain the written decision before counting funds as available.
A common decision point
Which documents connect my sponsor’s relationship, regular income and promised access to support for this application?
Match the requested relationship evidence, sponsorship statement and income and account records using consistent identities. Ask beforehand how non-family support or a joint account is assessed; explain the source and nature of support rather than relying on a temporary balance screenshot.
Requirements change. Before applying or paying, use the current call at the linked source and obtain the institution's written confirmation.
