Erasmus+ opportunities: eligibility, nomination and funding

Erasmus+ includes different mobility and study opportunities; a university exchange, traineeship and Erasmus Mundus joint master are not interchangeable programmes. Start with the official opportunity description and the relevant institutional call. Identify who may apply and which organisation selects or nominates participants.

For institutional mobility, ask the international office about partner agreements, available places and the study or traineeship agreement. Check language requirements, recognition of credits and the process for changing a learning agreement. A destination university’s general welcome page does not establish that your home institution has an available funded place.

Read the funding terms carefully. The grant can cover part of the cost and is not a promise that all expenses will be reimbursed. Record the calculation method, eligible duration, additional support, required documents and payment schedule. Keep a budget for a deposit and the period before the first grant payment.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters use their own programme-level admissions and scholarship procedures. Check each consortium’s eligibility, academic requirements and current deadline. A successful mobility application elsewhere does not automatically qualify you for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

Before travelling, complete the required academic, insurance and immigration steps. Non-EU students should confirm the applicable visa or mobility notification with the destination authority. Keep attendance and completion evidence and follow the agreement’s rules for recognition and reporting when you return.
