Moldova: choosing the right permission for exchanges, traineeships and short study
A study exchange, traineeship and short course may follow different application routes. The activity’s duration, content, payment and work element matter more than its promotional name; choosing a category solely because an invitation mentions Erasmus can create inconsistent records.
Apply the local route to your case
Which application category matches the activity, dates and payment arrangements in my invitation? University admission, entry permission and permission to remain are separate decisions. Keep a distinct document and validity date for each part of the file. Moldova’s IGM study file separately lists the institution’s request, study contract and enrolment evidence. Where D/AS is required, plan the consular stage, housing proof and residence extension separately. Correct mismatches between the application number, passport and enrolment record before processing advances. When documents are missing, retain the exact official request; obtain an academic-calendar answer from the university and an immigration answer from the competent authority. An acknowledgement of submission is not automatically permission to travel or work.
- Match study purpose, passport and university evidence within the same IGM application.
- Check the university admission, mediation or invitation document before submitting the official application.
- Track biometrics, address registration and permit collection as separate steps with dated receipts.
Steps for this specific problem
- Confirm your citizenship, current residence, programme type and study dates before choosing a visa, permit or appointment category. Another student's route may not apply to your circumstances.
- Describe whether the activity is employment, self-employment, a paid placement or a compulsory traineeship. Confirm the rule for that category and your own permission before signing; an employer’s willingness to hire does not establish work authorisation.
- Compare the approved learning agreement with the courses actually available. Keep module descriptions, assessment rules and both institutions’ written approval of changes, rather than relying on a verbal understanding or a timetable screenshot alone.
- Check the destination and every transit country’s rules as well as the carrier’s document checks. Do not treat a filing receipt or pending decision as a travel document; plan the route around the documents actually valid for your circumstances.
- Ask the responsible office to confirm your deadline and accepted correction channel in writing. Check the time zone, upload constraints and evidence of receipt instead of relying only on the date shown in a group message.
- Keep one dated record of submissions and replies. Redact unnecessary personal information when asking for help, and never give group members your passwords, payment credentials or uncontrolled copies of identity documents.
The linked procedure to check
Moldova’s official guide directs applications to the chosen university or international admissions office. Programmes may require interviews, language assessment or examinations; confirm the legalisation and translation format for your own documents. Plan university admission, academic recognition and professional licensing as separate checks. Obtain a written document list for your own qualification before paying for translations or an application. Check transcripts, name differences and the required prior study level early so that missing evidence does not derail your application. Check the application and document record with the named office. If instructions conflict, request a written clarification referring to the current official page, and retain the answer in your file.
A common decision point
Which application category matches the activity, dates and payment arrangements in my invitation?
Send the invitation, study or traineeship agreement and activity dates together and request written category confirmation. Academic acceptance does not itself settle permission to work or undertake a placement; clarify the correction sequence before replacing an existing application or booking.
Requirements change. Before applying or paying, use the current call at the linked source and obtain the institution's written confirmation.
